The Seed Fairy

My green thumb came only as a result of the mistakes I made while learning to see things from the plant’s point of view. ~H. Fred Dale

Sustainability is something that I have recently become interested in. So what is it? In a nutshell, we depend directly on the earth to live so Sustainability is learning how to live harmoniously with Mother Nature. We need to evolve into a symbiotic relationship with the earth instead of a parasitic one.

In my beginning effort to reduce my footprint and save some dough $, I have attempted to plant lettuce, peppers, and tomatoes in my backyard. I love the idea of hanging plants upside down to grow. Eventually when my thumb gets greener, I would love to make over the yard into a Hanging Garden ( of Babylon 🙂 ).

If anyone has tips or tricks they would like to share, I’m all ears £)

Have you heard of the Lilypad?

How cool does this look? The basic concept is that this Lilypad is a floating city that produces it’s own energy and processes CO2. To learn more about this visit http://inhabitat.com/lilypad-floating-cities-in-the-age-of-global-warming/ . They also have other really unique ideas.

After global warming raises the level of the oceans and we have massive loss of land, where do we go? I think it would be really neat to live on one of these, anyone else feel the same? I just wish there wasn’t going to be a need for them in the future.
